Why "Dragon Bean Roastery"?

Nga OttWell, the dragon is a well-known creature all over the world - strong and fire-breathing - especially in Vietnam, Nga's country of origin, it is a symbolic animal for luck, wealth and wisdom.

In an agricultural country like Vietnam, the dragon develops a strong association among the population. According to Vietnamese belief, a dragon, or “Rồng” in Vietnamese, is a sacred animal that produces rain, sunshine and good weather, which is essential for agriculture - and this is also our wish for the coffee farmers who work hard to provide us with our beloved coffee.

When we bring a dragon together with coffee beans, we want to ignite positive energy in our customers through the roasting process - all day long, cup after cup!

Which coffee do we roast?

Vietnamese coffee

Jürgen Ott an der RöstmaschineVietnam is Nga's home country and we also have direct trade contacts with it, which we have built up ourselves. So we personally know the coffee farmers whose coffee we roast.

For a long time, Vietnamese coffee did not have a particularly good reputation, as it was mainly mass-produced and had little flavor. Vietnam has thus become the world's second largest coffee producer - behind Brazil. In recent years, however, this has changed and the focus there is increasingly on high-quality coffee, from which the farmers can also make a better living.

We are in personal contact with these coffee farmers and buy our Vietnamese coffee from them, which we then want to offer you exclusively.

When we look for high quality coffee from Vietnam, what moves us most is its story, the inspiration that comes from it and what the farmers do on their farm, and we find in their stories the same inspiration and vision that we have.
